I wanted to take this picture since we moved to North Port, before I ever started this project. I made it a point to stop today on my way home from work...

A month or so ago, our friends Sal & Sheri invited us to dinner at a little mom & pop restaurant right here in North Port called Alvaro's. During our visit there we discovered that on Wednesday nights they had spaghetti for $4.95. Our food and service was impecciable so we decided we would definitely be back to give it a try. They are so sucessful that you always have a 30 minute wait at least, and that's if you can find a parking place.
3 weeks later it has become a ritual meeting for the 4 of us...

JD & I experienced an incredible healing session called the Raindrop Technique on Monday afternoon. It's hard to put into words exactly what we felt and experienced, but we both can tell that something is definitely happening to our bodies!

RAINDROP TECHNIQUE
Raindrop Technique® combines the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex and gentle hand movements in the application of essential oils to various areas of the body. This treatment provides a revolutionary means of bringing balance and harmony to the body - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Today I decided to capture a picture of the front of our refrigerator. I always find it interesting what kind of things people put on theirs. Mine has always been a conglomerate collection of miscellaneous things that are important to me at the time. I change it up every 6 months or so...

So far I have done a pretty good job of not using the pictures of my furry ones that I take every single day, but this one was a must use. I am in the process of doing a 12x12 layout using a shadow box frame highlighting how "Daphne" saved my heart after not being able to over come the heartbreak of having to leave my 2 rotties with my husband when we separated. It is impossible to find a place to rent when you own a rottweiler! So sad...but "Daphne" showed me how to live again.

My whole life I have loved and enjoyed playing board games. Sal & Sheri invited us to go out for dinner but instead we were able to convince them to come over to grill burgers, have some drinks and play pictionary... YEAH!!!!!

To much fun...

I have had an uncanny love for vintage things. I have collected antiques for as long as I can remember, and I started my kitchen collection approximately 20 years ago. I thought periodically I would post some of them here in my special album created for me by me....

A customer whom has become a regular at our thrift store gave this napkin to me because she said it reminded her of me the minute she saw it. It's good to know that I have a positive effect on the people around me. I LOVE that about me...

OK, I moved here to Florida from Colorado to escape the cold! 28 Degrees is NOT what I consider escaping by any means. The last couple of days have been what I consider un-bearable....brrr

The big inauguration day. Everyone is talking about it...everyone, except me. One thing that I have never been is into politics. As always our new presidents come into office filling Americans with false promises. This one . . . President Barack Hussein Obama addresses our nation with this.....

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land - a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many.

While all the above is true, I personally have NO confidence in this man what-so-ever! Only time will tell if he really can come through on all his promises to CHANGE America...

Needed a fill-in picture today, so I chose the picture of our family Christmas eve. "Sassy Girl" 11 yrs, "Daphne" 14 months & "Leyna" 2 yrs old...

Just a few of my crop buddies. We get together once a month for camaraderie, laughter and hopefully some scrapping! This month was at Marty's. Even little "Zoey" survived it!! She was a good dog considering what was going on with 12 women in her house...

JD & I went to Gators with our friends Sal & Sheri to listen to some live music. It was almost to cold but we seemed to manage. Sheri is our girls groomer and we have quickly became great friends.

Onto the next wall hangs these two cabinets that hold my aromatherapy essential oils, natural soaps and concoctions. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my oils! My ex, Robert used to tease me and call them my witches oils, LOL
A fond memory...

The next couple of days pictures will just consist of more of my master bath. I have always been one for a multitude of hair, face and body products. These little wooden drawers from Michael's fit perfectly in my window. Above are my natural body sprays and lotions from Two Sisters in Hyde Park. The vintage valance was a must have the minute I spotted it.

More daily essentials needed during my morning ritual! I love having a large master bath to showcase my product collections. More to come tomorrow...

This is the basket in my master bath that holds my brushes & blow dryer. I decided to include the items that I use everyday in this album of 365 day's through my eyes. Prior to letting my hair grow out this past year, I had NO need for any of these items. One thing about short spiked hair, it's easy peasy...

This is my daily ritual. Ormus (for brain function) is drank in the am, and MMS (to aid in curing my hepatitis C) in the pm. They are both mixed with organic apple juice to aid with the unpleasant taste. I have had remarkable results with both of these natural substances.

Well we spent Sunday with our friends Marty and Tom. Marty and I scrapped all day and the guy's watched the games. We ended the day in the hot tub....PERFECT!

Now I'm not so sure that I want to use the above picture so therefore I took back ups when we got home....

Boy if this doesn't make a girl want to purge since I only wear about 1/10th of what's in here I don't know what will...LOL

Some women collect shoes, others purses, me....jewelry!

I will most definitely have to use a whole page for just the jewelry case!

Went to Desoto Speedway in Bradenton to watch my son-in-law take his dragster down the track for the first time today. Scott and my daughter have been saving, building and dreaming of this dragster for months now...I am so lucky to have such great kids! Makes momma proud.

I LOVE coffee! But not just any coffee!! I have to have Gevalia. It's heaven and once you try it you can never go back. My ritual is two cups in the morning checking email and reading blogs, and occasionally two cups in the afternoon.

Twice a month Janice and Rich open up their home for a crystal bowl meditaion and healing. This is Janice here with her bowls right before the concert was to begin. We have been going for several months now, and I have to say that you have never experienced anything quite like it.

Our contract was up with Verizon this month, so I convinced my boyfriend JD to switch to AT&T. I had AT&T when we met and prefer them over Verizon any day. One thing about JD is that when it comes to getting his money's worth....he is ruthless to no end. Today it paid off. He got us two of the newest tech knowledge phones available. They are the Pantech C530. Not only did he get them for free, but we now have free unlimited internet for the same amount of money as we were paying Verizon without it. This phone totally rocks!! I can now stay online 24/7
Unbelieveable...

For several years now I have seen pictures all over the Internet where people take pictures of themselves in the mirror. I am certainly NOT one to take these kinds of pictures, but I decided that I too would give this a shot. Certainly not one of the best pictures of me...

11:35 PM

Having friends over for dinner and needed a few groceries, so I figured perfect photo op right? Well the best part so far of this project is the look on strangers faces as I am taking a picture of the front of Publix as I am walking in, or the cashier saying to me...are you taking my picture? I smile and say no, she says...you can take my picture if you want. Bless her heart, I didn't have the energy to explain what I was doing and why...

11:27 PM

Here is my mess as I am attempting to get some bracelets made for my friend Ginni. In the fore front of this picture you will see my little green spiral notebook, which is where I keep all of my journal ling for this project as I take the daily pictures...

Shortly after moving from Tampa to the Venice area I met Kelly. We instantly had an incredible and comfortable connection! It's as if we had known each other our whole lives.
The hustle and bustle from the holidays were finally over and Kelly & I were both dying to get together. JD & I went over to Kelly & Alan's. We exchanged gifts, shared a meal, drank way to many margaritas, played several board games, and laughed ourselves silly.

10:41 PM

This is one of my pleasures in life! I LOVE lighting candles, putting on some music and soaking in a hot bath, {the hotter the better}. This allows me to totally zone out for a bit. This Christmas one of my dearest friends Ginni gave me the most awesome bath salts. This bath was pure heaven I'll tell ya...

This picture was actually taken on New Years Eve by my friend Marty shortly after midnight, therefore the official date would be 1-1-09. "Daphne" (my newest rescue) was terrified of the fireworks and wanted to be as close to mom as possible. (She is a mommas girl)

Who I Am . . . I am a Colorado native, living in Florida (yes by choice) I have lived in Florida since 1985, and I live here now with three dogs, a Umbrella Cockatoo, a couple of ghosts and a complicated beautiful man. I met him on-line, and I love him more everyday. I have white hair that is more beautiful then fresh fallen snow. I can’t stand to wear uncomfortable shoes, but I love to paint my toenails. There are few things as beautiful to me as the musical lilt of mountain speech or the sound of a crying fiddle. I am a proud liberal pro-choice feminist. I am a white person who cares deeply about racial equality. I am a straight person who cares deeply about gay rights. I am spiritual, but not religious. I meditate, study Buddhism, believe in natural medicine, and yes I talk to angels. I believe in hope and transformation. I believe that love is stronger than fear. I believe in the magic that lives between the writer and the reader. I believe in the healing power of creativity. I believe that each one of us on this planet is an artist with a story to tell. I'm telling my story as honestly as I can.
